After surveying our teachers about the type of PD they’d like during the summer, we created the Technology Content Area Academies in response to the almost unanimous request for content area specific training. Teachers came for a 6 hour workshop on their content area…with examples specifically addressing the grade levels of the teachers in attendance. We worked closely with Stacia Pearce and Yvonne Hensley, our district ELA Curriculum Coordinators, to make sure we covered content, strategies, and tools that would address our district goals but with a technology flare. They jumped right in and taught with us throughout the day. We are so grateful for that collaborative spirit and that we’re all on the same page!
