For weeks, I helped the KMS teachers create videos for the first ever KMS Virtual Curriculum Night. Instead of coming up to campus for curriculum night, parents could stay at home and watch videos created by the teachers starring their students. We also live-streamed some fine arts performances!
Every year, the Admin Building has a Christmas Door Decorating contest. The year the theme was Christmas Around the World. Our team drew Eygpt. We also took home the trophy!
Burleson ISD participated in Hour of Code week for the second time this year. All of our campuses took time during the first full week of December to encourage students to code and learn more about computer science.
The Learning Technologies Department ran the green screen photo booth for the Special Services Department’s annual Best Friends Festival. This was our second year to run the booth and we had a wonderful time taking photos of the students and teachers…and photoshopping them into Tattooine!
We celebrated Matthew Kitchen’s birthday at Babe’s Chicken House…and may have subjected him to a little public dancing in a pink cowboy hat! What a good sport! Happy birthday, Matt!
Kandice had to rock the July birthdays solo this year…and she nailed it! Way to go Kandice!
Loved getting to participate in this one! Woot!
I was flattered and excited to be asked to participate in Burleson Collegiate High School’s summer bridge program. This new campus was bringing in all of its new students and doing a complete day of goal setting, team building, training, fun, and pizza.
I think I’m addicted to these birthday songs! Love it!
I got to stop by The REALM Parent Night presentations – which were set up like games…really cool! Parents and students were so excited to learn about their new campus. Some of those parents got really competitive playing the 1980s video game challenge prepared by Dean Cheryl Essex. Good times […]
Working with the Data Department and the Academic Innovation Department, we managed to make the finals of the XQ Grant – a 10 Million Dollar grant for innovation in High Schools.
I got to facilitate the BHS Engineering 3D printer installation from Polyprinter today. It was really amazing how quickly the rep was able to get the printer up and running – despite all of us almost drowning in the torrential downpour outside!
The XQ School Grant asked that we submit a video. Dr. Bender Jutzi, Academic Innovations Officer for the district worked to put this awesome video together about The REALM. It was so exciting to be asked to participate in the video.
God only knows what we’d do without these birthday songs! Love them!
Spring 2016 brought with it the 2nd Annual CHS Lit Tank. This 11th-grade English assignment is a take on the popular TV show, Lit Tank. Students have five weeks to plan and create a product, service, or business that is literature or literacy based. Students create a digital pitch site, a […]
A tribute to Sonny and Cher…and our only March birthday at Admin. So fun!
The ladies have done it again! Amazing! I was so tickled to get to participate! Watch out for those smooth dance moves!
These ladies are HILARIOUS! They started this tradition and we all love it! January Birthdays – sung to Adele’s Hello.
This year, everyone drew a Christmas carol that they had to use to decorate their door. Our team got Santa Baby. We won the Clark W. Griswald award…we may have gone a little overboard! Ha ha! Love it!
So honored to have my name sung in the Admin Bldg. birthday song for December. I love my work peeps.
This is a great video, created as a student project, that explains why it’s important to remember to do what we love…and allow our students to do so as well.
And now it’s time for the annual Admin Bldg. Christmas door decorating contest video! Enjoy!
This fun video greeted teachers as they returned to school during our big convocation celebration. It was really fun to run around and film all of these crazy coaches! What a blast! I really enjoy this part of my job!
This year at work, each group drew a Christmas movie to use as inspiration for decorating their door. My group went a little crazy, but then…if it’s worth doing…it’s worth doing big! Especially when you get Elf as your movie! What a good time! I put the video together for […]
I have a great team of teachers from Kerr MS that joined me at Region XI for an Aurasma training. Aurasma is software that allows you to create augmented reality – the layering of digital media over still images.
Convocation this year was a lot of work…but it was a lot of fun too! It started with everyone in the district getting a free t-shirt (that I designed)! Pretty cool, huh?
